Printhie Wines is making its mark on the Australian sparkling scene by taking out the Best Wine and Best Sparkling trophies for its Swift Cuvée at the 2018 Orange Wine Show and NSW Wine Awards respectively.
But the awards for the Swift Cuvée don’t stop there, also receiving Gold medals at the Royal Queensland and Royal Adelaide Wine Shows and Silver medals at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards and the NSW Small Winemakers Wine Show this year.
In total the Swift Sparkling range including the Cuvée, Vintage and Rosé have clocked up 13 medals this year, confirming its place as one of Australia’s best sparkling ranges.
Owner of Printhie Wines, Edward Swift commented: “We are very excited to see the work and effort we put into our sparkling range being recognized. It’s putting cool climate sparkling on the map for Australia and the orange region.
“We’re passionate about setting a benchmark for both quality and style and will continue to strive to achieve this.”
The Swift sparkling range is produced using the method traditionelle style (french traditional method) and, with the class of sparkling wine made locally reaching new heights, it is widely acknowledged that the best sparkling wines in Australia hail from cool climate regions like Orange.
“We have always believed that our region has significant potential for producing world-class sparkling wine and are thrilled that this has been recognised by the judges at these recent wine shows,” said Ed Swift.
The Swift Cuvée was also inducted into Tyson Stelzer’s Hall of Honour in 2016, considered by the industry as the premier expert on Australia’s sparkling wine.
