The vineyard from which we source our Pinot Noir is at the towering heights of 1040m. It has its own micro climate, and even though we were in the grip of one of the worst dry spells on record, the effects on this vineyard were not nearly as severe. Being protected from the hot westerly winds and being a few degrees cooler each day this vintage was more in line with the average.
A different winemaking approach is required with this wine due the delicacy and finesse of the fruit. This approach uses minimal handling techniques such as carbonic maceration. The wine is then matured in a variety of oak barrels.
